In January I had the pleasure of photographing the wedding of Kate and Pete and what a fun day it was!
I joined Kate at The Barns hotel in the morning and whilst the Bridesmaids were getting ready got started on photographing the pretty details – the bouquets, jewellery including thge wedding rings of course! The dress and the shoes. Well the shoes were something else!
The shoes totally reflected Kates fun and happy personality and were a great addition to her beautiful bridal gown.
One the details were done I headed down to the reception area and found the groom and best man sat having a well deserved pre-wedding pint!
I checked the reception room and captured a few shots before returning to Kate to capture her makeup being done whilst she herself was having a sneaky glass of fizz to calm the nerves.
The weather was not on our side with snow falling and being very very cold so many guests started appearing downstairs wet and grateful of some shelter.
I made my way to the ceremony room which I have to admit is a lovely room and despite being in the eves of the building still producing lots of light. The ceremony was lovely with a few tears shed and lots of smiles, the group shots then followed and some more intimate shots of the newly weds before they then had the chance to let their hair down for the rest of the day.
Afte rthe speeches were done I moved amongst the guests capturing my favourite candid moments, the laughter and jokes, the reminising of family and friends who had not seen each other for a while, the kids giggling at their photo booth pictures and the sneaky visits to the ice cream cart.
Then the first dance came…… and what a first dance it was! At this point I must add that I was used to the slow and relaxed style of a first dance and was not quite warned t hat this one would be slightly different. I got my settings ready and was poised with my camera – the music started and Kate and Pete were dancing. It was lovely to se ethem enjoying each others company and having their first dance as Mr and Mrs Holden. Then it changed, before I knew it the beat had changed, the temp sped up and the dance floor was flooded by dancing and jumping guests with glow lights! I have never laughed so much during a couples first dance as I did at that moment – the fun loving newly weds were jumping and boucning around the dance floor having the time of their lives providing me with a great memory for many years to come.
Thank you so much for allowing me to be part of your amazing day Mr and Mrs Holden and I wish you all the best for your future together as husband and wife x
